Conventional wisdom about proper car care calls for oil changes every three months or 3,000 miles. Our Genesis of Roswell service department techs suggest this isn't always true. Engines running on synthetic oil may only require an oil change every 7,500 to 15,000 miles. Why? It all has to do with the superior makeup of synthetic oil.

What is Synthetic Oil?

Manufacturers craft synthetic oil by combining hydrogen and carbon atoms. They combine the atoms to create a synthetic version of petroleum, the predominant type of machine and motor lubrication. By combining atoms to craft petroleum, manufacturers ensure that synthetic oil has consistent molecular structure. This means each molecule is of identical shape and size. This consistency gives synthetic oil superb viscosity in hot and cold weather. It also makes this oil great at lubrication and filtration of engine purities.

Totally or Fully Synthetic Oils

Synthetic oils may be fully synthetic or blends. Fully synthetic oils have man-made molecules derived from synthetic basestocks and other raw materials. Synthetic blends consist of synthetic basestocks mixed with refined crude oil.
